Invitation to join me at Edge City in California the final week of June
Courtyard Urbanism conversation is headed Healdsburg, CA, June 22-27, and you are invited
I wanted to flag it here because the final week - Environments of Tomorrow (June 22-27) - is about the things this community thinks about. It’s hosted by Kevin Fishner and Devon Zuegel, and it covers three threads: architecture and urbanism (what gets built after the suburb, what actually makes a walkable neighborhood work), town-building (charter frameworks, land assembly, governance - the Próspera and California Forever crowd), and a parallel Future of Education thread led by Andrea Gallagher on schools, learning pods, and what a new town needs to hold families.
I am deeply excited about the talk I will be giving, and will be exploring some of the “post-suburban” themes in the newsletter in the weeks leading up to the event.
25+ sessions confirmed. The new-town conversation has moved past theory, and the people doing that work are going to be in one room.
If any of this is relevant to your work, applications are open at edgeesmeralda.com. You can come for just the final week or the full month.
And for readers of my newsletter, use the code EOT-ALICIA-10 for 10% off! Let me know if you plan on coming — I hope to see you there!
